Privacy Policy

The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to us or stored on a server, unless you choose to request contractor quotes (see "Optional quote requests" below).

We collect standard aggregate analytics: pages viewed, referring site, approximate region, device type and browser. This is used to decide which calculators and guides to build next.

We use cookies for analytics, advertising (see below) and affiliate attribution. Amazon sets its own cookies when you follow a product link, governed by Amazon's privacy notice rather than ours.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not run an email list unless you explicitly join one. The one exception is a quote request you choose to send, described below.

We show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message from Google, a certified consent management platform, before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. You can accept, decline or change your choice at any time through that message. If you decline, Google may still show non-personalised ads that use cookies only for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention.

Some calculator results offer an optional “compare free local quotes” step. It is always your choice, and nothing is shared unless you start it. We are not a contractor and are not affiliated with any contractor.

What is shared and with whom: if you ask for quotes, the details you enter — your name, phone number, email, project ZIP code, whether you own the property, when you want to start — and a short summary of your calculator inputs (for example, “Attic area: 1,200 sq ft”) go to the home-services lead network named next to the form (such as Networx Systems, Inc., Modernize Home Services / QuinStreet, or Service Direct). That network shares them with up to three contractors in its network who serve your area so they can contact you with quotes. The network's own privacy policy, linked beside the form, then applies to your information. When the quote form or phone number is hosted by the network itself, you give your details directly to the network and we never receive them.

Consent to be contacted: the network and its contractors may contact you by phone (including autodialed or prerecorded calls), text message and email only if you tick the consent box shown with the form. Consent is never a condition of any purchase. You can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP to a text or asking the network or contractor to stop contacting you.

What we keep: nothing. When our own form is used, your request passes through our server only long enough to be forwarded to the network over an encrypted connection. We don't save it to a database, write it to logs, or use it for our own marketing. We record only anonymous counts (for example, “a quote request was sent from the attic calculator”) to see whether the feature is useful.

Compensation and your state privacy rights: the network may pay us for a quote request you submit. Under some U.S. state privacy laws (for example, California's CCPA/CPRA) that exchange can count as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. It happens only when you ask for quotes; if you don't want it, don't submit the form. To ask the network to delete your information, use the contact details in its privacy policy, or email support@dixonappstudio.com and we will pass your request on. The quote feature is for U.S. adults (18+) only.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time; the calculators keep working. To ask what data we hold about you, or to request deletion, email support@dixonappstudio.com.

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
